Library Bellevue

This project is the winning competition entry for the new Bellevue Branch of the Nashville Public Library and is currently under construction.

It is not your grandmothers library. The space was conceived as an active civic space to link together the community of Belleville. It first makes use of its site with a covered front porch for discussion, reading, and people watching that opens to the principal street. The library's mass is divided into two kinked boxes. A central arcade divides the fow forms and brings light into the depth of the library. The center of the library holds the main desk where librarians can oversee all the library activities.

Design work was completed at Hastings Architecture Associates in Nashville TN with the assistance of Messer Construction and Hodgeson Douglas Landscape Architectes.
